Hi all!

I’m João (that’s Portuguese for John), an almost middle-aged guy from Lisbon, Portugal. I’m an engineer by training who likes lots of things, and this is where I dump whatever’s on my mind, no matter the topic.

I code for a living

During business hours, I work with talented people building software for others to use.

I shoot photos all the time

Sometimes as part of ongoing projects, sometimes just everyday scenes — the street, friends, or whatever catches my eye.

I travel as often as I can

Sometimes really far away, sometimes just around the corner.

I’m a bit of a tree-hugging lefty

As in caring about people, the planet, and occasionally getting worked up about politics.

I’m like every other geek

Which means I like technology, gadgets, Star Wars, and the usual geeky stuff.

I’ll likely write in English

But also in Portuguese. I often switch back and forth, my personal notes can be a bit of a mess.

The Photography Stuff

I often rant about photography and travel here, but to give those topics more room to breathe I moved them to their own space. I’d love if you checked those out — but no pressure.
